Legal Challenges for an Industry in Transition
Troy Marriott Hotel
11.06.2009

The attorneys of Plunkett Cooney's Medical Liability and Healthcare practice groups are sponsoring a free Extended Care Seminar and Mock Trial on Friday, Nov. 6 from 8 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Troy Marriott Hotel.

This year's complimentary seminar is designed to benefit doctors, nurses, directors of nursing, administrators, executives, corporate compliance officers and risk managers working in the extended care industry.

Attorneys with extensive experience in the healthcare and extended care fields will review such topics as:

  • Arbitration clauses: The impact of recent events and strategies for responding
  • Recent case law impacting extended care facilities and staff
  • Strategies for minimizing liability in today's transitioning extended care industry

A mock trial, based upon the facts of an actual extended care liability, case will provide attendees with a detail overview of trial procedure and case presentation. Attendees will watch via closed circuit television as an independent jury deliberates the merits of the case. Will they rule in favor of the plaintiff or the defense?
