Hardy joins Plunkett Cooney’s Indianapolis office

An attorney with over 25 years experience in public, private and in-house law department practice, Brandt N. Hardy recently joined Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest law firms, as a senior attorney in its Indianapolis office.

“Brandt’s background working with financial institutions compliments the services we offer our Indiana clients,” said Dennis G. Cowan, Plunkett Cooney’s Business Department Leader. “Due to the rapid growth in the banking, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practice, his expertise is in great demand.”

Hardy, a member of the firm’s Banking, Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group, focuses his practice in the areas of commercial loan workouts, loan restructuring, secured transactions, real estate, foreclosures, receiverships and bankruptcy.

Hardy represents regional and national financial institutions in the areas of banking law and creditors’ rights. He counsels banks and other lenders in the development and implementation of workout strategies for the resolution of risks arising from troubled loans and other non performing financial assets. His workout practice also includes litigation of matters involving delinquent and defaulted commercial loans and mortgages.

Licensed to practice in the state and federal courts in Indiana, Hardy is a member of the Indianapolis and Indiana bar associations.

Hardy received his law degree from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis in 1981 and his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 1977. Following graduation from law school, he served as a clerk for the U.S. District Court and the Indiana Court of Appeals. Hardy received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 1977.

The members of Plunkett Cooney’s Banking, Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights Practice Group have represented banks, savings and loan associations, mortgage companies, credit unions and finance companies for over 25 years. Members of the group have nearly 110 years of combined experience as in-house bank counsel prior to joining the firm.
