Blake adds depth to Plunkett Cooney’s Litigation Department
Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest law firms, recently expanded its Litigation Practice Group when David G. Blake joined the firm as an attorney in the Detroit office.
“Dave has a tremendous amount of experience handling various matters in state and federal courts,” said Robert A. Marzano, Plunkett Cooney’s Litigation Practice Group Leader. “He’s very adept at handling cases ranging from slip, trip and falls to wrongful death cases to professional malpractice claims. Dave is a great addition to our litigation team.”
Blake focuses his practice in the areas of general liability, medical malpractice, product liability and professional malpractice liability. He represents clients in a wide range of litigation, including wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury cases, premises liability matters and professional malpractice liability cases.
In addition, Blake has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, mold exposure cases, wrongful discharge and employment non-compete matters, and trademark infringement litigation.
Blake received his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2002. While there, he received numerous academic honors, including a Criminal Practice Certificate of Merit, as well as inclusion on the Dean’s List, Honor Roll and Alumni Board of Governors. Mr. Blake also served as an editorial board member of the Thomas M. Cooley Journal of Practical & Clinical Law and as a member of the NACDL National Mock Trial team. He received his undergraduate degree from Muskingum College in 1999.
Admitted to practice in Michigan and Florida, Blake is a member of the Sarasota County, Detroit Metropolitan and American bar associations. He is also a member of the Detroit Economic Club.
