Michigan Super Lawyers magazine recently named 31 attorneys from Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest law firms, to its 2012 list of “Super Lawyers.”

The designation is based on statewide balloting by Michigan attorneys, research conducted by Thomson Reuters, which publishes Michigan Super Lawyers magazine, and a peer review process that encompasses more than 70 different practice areas. Those named to the list represent only five percent of the state’s licensed practitioners.

Mary Massaron, Plunkett Cooney’s Appellate Law Practice Group Leader, received special recognition by the magazine for the sixth consecutive year when she was included among the state’s top 100 attorneys and the top 50 women lawyers. In addition to being a member of the prestigious American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and numerous other honors, Massaron Ross was recently elected president of DRI – The Voice of the Defense Bar, an international organization of defense attorneys and in-house corporate counsel.
