Hoffman Elected to State Bar Healthcare Leadership Council

Plunkett Cooney Shareholder Marta J. Hoffman was recently elected to serve as a member of the Leadership Council of the State Bar of Michigan Healthcare Law Section.
The council is responsible for general supervision and control of the section’s affairs, which include member educational programs; advocacy and commentary on state and federal legislation, regulation and public policy related to the health care field; section promotional activities; and coordination with other healthcare attorney and industry groups.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for me to help shape the section’s agenda for the coming years,” said Hoffman about her three-year term on the council. “Plunkett Cooney’s healthcare practice continues to grow within and beyond the State of Michigan , so I am pleased to lend some of my experience to this dynamic organization.”
A member of the firm’s Bloomfield Hills office, Hoffman is licensed in both Michigan and Ohio and practices in the areas of healthcare law, commercial litigation, employment law and medical liability. She counsels healthcare clients regarding regulatory matters, contractual issues and medical malpractice claims. Her corporate experience includes counseling profit and nonprofit corporations and representing clients in employment and commercial litigation claims.
Prior to pursuing her legal career, Hoffman worked 12 years as a registered nurse, specializing in critical care, emergency nursing and hospital supervision of nursing and other staff.
