McGivney joins Plunkett Cooney’s Flint office

Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest law firms, continued the expansion of its Flint regional office with the recent addition of attorney Jessica A. McGivney.

A member of Plunkett Cooney’s Litigation Practice Group, McGivney concentrates her practice primarily on matters involving governmental and medical liability. She represents municipalities in police pursuits, excessive force, civil rights, whistleblower, labor and employment (discipline, discharge and contract related issues), zoning and personal injury claims. She also routinely defends physicians and hospitals in medical liability cases. 

Prior to joining the firm, McGivney worked as an associate attorney for a Southfield-based law firm where she gained experience in the areas of commercial litigation, insurance coverage disputes, personal injury, no fault, employment law and ERISA. Prior to entering private practice, she clerked for the Office of the General Counsel for DaimlerChrysler Financial Services in Southfield, where she researched various consumer finance programs and drafted finance and lease agreements in accordance with Article 9.

A cum laude graduate of Michigan State University College of Law, McGivney is a member of the Livingston and Genesee County bar associations and the State Bar of Michigan. She is licensed to practice in Michigan ’s state and federal courts.
