Bumbaugh brings healthcare, business litigation expertise to firm

James A. Bumbaugh, a veteran attorney who focuses his practice primarily in the areas of healthcare law, commercial litigation, employment law and corporate transactions, recently joined the law firm Plunkett Cooney as a member of the Healthcare Industry and Real Estate/Transactional Practice groups.

Prior to joining Plunkett Cooney, Bumbaugh worked for a Farmington Hills-based law firm, where he gained extensive experience serving as outside corporate counsel for various profit and nonprofit corporations. He routinely provides counsel to corporate clients on UCC related matters, contracts and various other agreements, employment matters and a variety of complex litigation matters. His healthcare industry practice includes a number of services such as employment law, regulatory compliance, general business and transactional matters.

A graduate of Michigan State University College of Law, Bumbaugh is a member of the Oakland County and American bar associations, the State Bar of Ohio, the State Bar of Michigan’s Health Care Law section, as well as a member of the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association, American Health Lawyers Association and the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel.
