McMahon lends in-house banking expertise to firm
With approximately 30 years of experience representing commercial lenders and workout clients for a national financial institution, Daniel B. McMahon joins Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest law firms, as a senior attorney in the firm’s Bloomfield Hills office.

A member of the firm’s Banking, Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group, McMahon focuses his practice in the areas of loan workouts and foreclosures, bankruptcy, commercial real estate, loan documentation and construction loans.
Prior to joining the firm, McMahon worked for LaSalle Bank Corporation, formerly known as Michigan National Corporation, where he last served as First Vice President/ Senior Counsel. In this role, he represented commercial lenders and workout groups of middle and small business loans involving troubled credit, litigation, bankruptcy and transactional loan documentation.
McMahon helped establish Michigan National Corporation’s full-service law department for Southeast Michigan, where he developed the department’s competencies in commercial loan documentation, bank services and regulatory functions.
A frequent lecturer on various banking issues, McMahon is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Real Estate Law Section and Pro Bono Committee. He is also a member of the Birmingham Brownfield Redevelopment Committee, as well as a volunteer pro bono attorney with Community Legal Resources.
