John F. Potvin is a partner in the firm’s Mount Clemens office who focuses his practice in the areas of title insurance, foodservice and hospitality law, real estate and agency liability.
Mr. Potvin is a former Commander of the 106th Judge Advocate General (JAG) Detachment. After attending JAG school in Charlottesville, Virginia, he went on to serve as a reserve officer in the Army Judge Advocate General Corps for over 25 years.
Mr. Potvin has represented various companies and clients within the foodservice and hospitality industry. His experience includes personal injury, dramshop/liquor liability and real estate matters. Mr Potvin has also appeared before the Michigan Liquor Control Commission and local municipalities on behalf of his clients regarding liquor licensing matters. While serving as a JAG officer, he had extensive experience reviewing government contracts for food service programs at military installations throughout the United States.
A member of Plunkett Cooney's Title Insurance Practice Group, Mr. Potvin also has extensive experience representing various clients on real property matters, including construction lien priorities, mortgage reformations and quiteting of title.
Mr. Potvin is a past president of the Macomb County Bar Association and is a member of the Macomb County Bar Foundation and the State Bar of Michigan's Military Law Committee.
