Brandt N. Hardy is a senior attorney in Plunkett Cooney's Indianapolis office and a member of the firm’s Banking, Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group. Mr. Hardy practices in the areas of commercial loan workouts, loan restructuring, secured transactions, real estate, foreclosures, receiverships and bankruptcy.
An attorney with over 25 years experience in public, private and in-house law department practice, Mr. Hardy represents regional and national financial institutions in the areas of banking law and creditors’ rights. He counsels financial institutions in the development and implementation of workout strategies for the resolution of risks arising from troubled loans and other non performing financial assets. His workout practice also includes the litigation of matters involving delinquent and defaulted commercial loans and mortgages.
Licensed to practice in state and federal courts in Indiana, Mr. Hardy is a member of the Indianapolis and Indiana bar associations.
Representative Client Work
- As in-house counsel, represented a national financial institution in complex commercial and real estate loan workouts
- Provided counsel to a national financial institution in the risk mitigation of non-performing assets, developing and implementing workout strategies for the resolution of larger commercial, industrial and real estate loans in Indiana, Florida, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois and southern Ohio
- Defended the financial institution as co-counsel with outside counsel to mitigate transactional and litigation risks in structuring forbearances, disposing of non performing assets and pursuing creditor rights in bankruptcies
