Carrie Kennedy is a senior attorney in the firm’s Insurance and Professional Liability Department.

Ms. Kennedy focuses her practice on insurance-related work such as coverage disputes, entitlement issues and catastrophic injuries, as well as on no-fault law and motor vehicle litigation. She has expertise in defending claims involving traumatic brain injuries, severe burns and spinal cord injuries.

A member of the firm’s Detroit office, Ms. Kennedy also has experience in premise liability, Medicare/Medicaid and ERISA litigation, estate planning, probate litigation, contracts, creditors’ rights and commercial litigation.

  • Defends insurers in coverage and priority disputes when those insurers are appointed as the servicing insurer of the assigned claims facility of the state of Michigan
  • Defends insurers and self-insurers in high exposure first party no fault cases
  • Defends insurers in coverage litigation and provides coverage opinions
  • Defends corporations and individuals in catastrophic injury motor vehicle accident cases
  • Defends insurers with regard to no-fault claims for home modifications, attendant care and vehicle modifications
  • Provides pre-litigation/claims stage advice to insurers
