Courtney L. Bollman

Courtney L. Bollman is a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Law and General Litigation practice groups. Ms. Bollman focuses her litigation practice in the areas of employment law, including discrimination and retaliation claims, premises liability and general liability.

Ms. Bollman received her law degree, cum laude, from Chicago-Kent College of Law. While there, she received several academic awards, including a CALI Award and a merit scholarship, and she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. 

Ms. Bollman also completed an externship for the Honorable Samuel Der-Yeghiayan of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Representative Client Work

• Obtained favorable rulings and/or dismissals in premises liability matters on behalf of national retail clients based upon application of the "open and obvious" doctrine.
• Drafted motions for summary judgment on claims asserting violations of federal and state employment statutes, including Title VII, ELCRA, and Michigan's Whistleblowers' Protection Act.
• Drafted motions for summary disposition involving claims of defamation, due process violations, breach of contract, and tortious interference with contractual relationships.

Publications and Lectures

• Provided training regarding sexual harrassment and retaliation on behalf of the Michigan Municipal League.
