Anita B. Folino is the managing partner of Plunkett Cooney’s East Lansing office. She focuses her practice in the areas of medical malpractice, professional liability, personal injury litigation, product liability, professional healthcare licensing matters and general litigation.

Ms. Folino has an understanding of the special circumstances involving members of the healthcare profession. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Folino practiced as a registered nurse for a number of years.

Ms. Folino received her nursing degree from Villanova University and her law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Representative Client Work

  • Successfully represented a leading Pittsburgh-based healthcare system in the defense of 17 medical device product liability claims involving alleged defective screws utilized in bone repair surgery. Plaintiff demands ranged into the seven figures, and the cases were consolidated for jury trial in Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.
  • Successfully resolved a product liability case in Eaton County, Pennsylvania involving a machine shop worker who was crushed to death by an industrial press, allegedly due to a defective design issue.
  • Prior to joining Plunkett Cooney, successfully resolved numerous medical device/medical malpractice related product liability cases in the states of Pennsylvania and Ohio.
