Robert H. Martin

Robert H. Martin is a partner in the firm’s Bloomfield Hills office who specializes in the areas of motor vehicle liability, insurance law, transportation law, premises liability, product liability and professional liability. He has also been selected as a mediator and binding arbitrator in numerous cases by attorneys for litigants.

Mr. Martin routinely handles complex litigation involving multi-million dollar personal injury and property damage claims often involving multiple parties and jurisdictions. He has built an extensive and very successful trial record in addition to his aggressive motion practice, which frequently results in additional favorable decisions for his clients.

Mr. Martin has written numerous articles and has lectured extensively on a variety of topics, including insurance adjuster liability, premises liability, no fault law, liquor liability, and environmental and toxic tort law.

Representative Client Work

• Tried over 200 cases to jury verdict in state and federal courts
• Defended dram shop case involving a quadriplegic to a defense verdict where $15,000,000 was demanded by the plaintiff
• Defended a rollover bus accident, which injured 40 people, some seriously, to defense settlement and to defense jury verdict
• Successfully defended to verdict a construction accident case in which the plaintiff allegedly fell off a scaffold, fracturing both legs, both arms and back
• Successfully tried to a defense verdict a case involving a professional educator who was allegedly involved in an assault and battery, as well as racial discrimination
• Tried and won cases in criminal courts, probate courts and administrative law courts
• Selected as a mediator and binding arbitrator by defense and plaintiff attorneys involved in ongoing litigation
