Position: New Business Intake Clerk

Location: Bloomfield Hills (Hybrid)

Located in the firm's Bloomfield Hills, Michigan office, Plunkett Cooney’s Finance Department, is seeking a New Business Intake Clerk to join the team. Position is responsible for setting up and assigning rates for new matters in a computer system and research potential cases for conflict checks. 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Completing and reporting conflict checks on potential new files in firm’s data base
  • Communicate to attorneys any conflicts/issues with opening new files
  • Responsible for learning/becoming knowledgeable on firm’s client base, client codes, and department billing rates
  • Update client contact information
  • Distribute rate reports with updating client rates in the database
  • Assist billing department with distribution of monthly pre bills
  • Perform miscellaneous clerical duties such as answering the telephone and filing

To be considered for the position, you must:

  • Office environment experience required (3-4 years)
  • Some college preferred
  • Have excellent customer service for internal and external clients
  • Have data entry skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Plunkett Cooney offers a flexible remote work option subject to performance and training, however, this position will be required to report to the Bloomfield Hills office 2-3 days per week to provide in-office support.
