Sixth Circuit Strikes Down 'Negotiating Class' Created to Pursue Opioid Manufacturers

Plunkett Cooney appellate attorney Mary Massaron successfully argued to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit on Sept. 23 that the novel approach plaintiffs' counsel used to form a settlement class against opioid manufacturers fell outside the lines of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
