Firm Names Andreou Medical Liability Practice Group Leader

Plunkett Cooney shareholder D. Jennifer Andreou was recently named Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Medical Liability Practice Group.

A member of the firm’s Mt. Clemens office, Andreou will provide direction and oversight on client service, marketing and new business development, staffing and other areas key to the success of the Medical Liability Practice Group.

Andreou joined Plunkett Cooney in 1999. She specializes in the defense of physicians and hospitals in claims alleging medical malpractice. Her other areas of expertise include representation of physicians before the Michigan Bureau of Health Services Board of Medicine and resolving issues associated with hospital ethics.

Andreou is a frequent lecturer on issues involving proper documentation of medical records, handling subpoenas, preparing for deposition and trial testimony, changes applicable to tort reform and numerous other topics.

In addition to her practice, Andreou is a leader in the metropolitan Detroit community.  While a member of the Board of Directors of The Detroit Barristers, she served as Chair of the Holiday Food Fund, the American Cancer Lock-Up, Senior Citizens Law Day, and she participated in the M.E.L.L. Substance Abuse Prevention Program.

Andreou attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated, with honors, from Wayne State University .  She earned her law degree from University of Detroit Law School in 1985. Andreou has earned Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating-AV. AV is a registered certification mark of Reed Elsevier Properties, Inc., used in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies.
