Plunkett Cooney attorneys among Indiana ‘Super Lawyers’

03.20.2018

Indiana Super Lawyers magazine recently named Stephen J. Peters and Pamela A. Paige from Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest law firms, to its 2018 list of “Super Lawyers.”

Since 2009, Peters has received the Indiana Super Lawyer designation in the areas of appellate law, commercial litigation, construction law and insurance law. Paige is new to the Super Lawyers list, receiving the designation in the area of civil litigation: defense.

Selection as a Super Lawyer involves a patented-multiphase selection process involving peer nomination, independent research and peer evaluation. Those named to the annual list represent only the top five percent of the state’s total licensed practitioners.

Peters serves as the managing partner of the firm’s Indianapolis office. He focuses his practice in the areas of civil litigation and appellate law. His litigation practice includes claims involving insurance coverage, employment liability, professional liability and business disputes. His extensive appellate practice includes serving as primary or amicus curiae counsel in over 100 appeals.

In addition to his selection as a Super Lawyer, Peters is a Fellow of the prestigious Litigation Counsel of America. He has also been listed among the “Best Lawyers in America” since 2013. Peters received his law degree from Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana and his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Amherst College.

Paige is a senior attorney who focuses her practice in the areas of banking and general litigation, including creditors' rights, bankruptcy, business, real estate litigation, title insurance law, transportation liability and product liability. Admitted in state and federal courts in three states and in Washington, D.C., Paige represents national and regional clients either directly or through their insurance providers. She has provided litigation expertise for over 20 years to regional and national financial institutions, product manufacturers, insurance providers and motor carriers, among many others. Paige received her law degree from Pace University School of Law in 1989 and her undergraduate degree from California State University – Fullerton in 1984.

Since 1913, Plunkett Cooney has been a leading provider of transactional and litigation services to clients in the private and public sectors. The firm employs approximately 150 attorneys in nine Michigan cities; Chicago, Illinois; Columbus, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana. Plunkett Cooney has achieved the highest rating (AV) awarded by Martindale-Hubbell, an international directory of law firms, and it was named by American Lawyer Media as a “ go-to” law firm in 2016. The firm has also received several awards naming it among the top workplaces in the legal industry.
