Bernstein to present at national bankruptcy conference

Plunkett Cooney’s Banking, Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group Leader, Douglas C. Bernstein, will be among the featured speakers at the American Bankruptcy Institute’s (ABI) 15th Annual Central States Bankruptcy Workshop on June 12-15 in Traverse City .  

Bernstein will be one of four panel guests, including U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Steven W. Rhodes, speaking at the session, titled: “Strategies in Negotiating Financing Orders: How Can David Beat Goliath?” on Friday, June 13. The program will involve a candid conversation that reflects the point of views from the lender’s and borrower’s counsel, consultants and the bankruptcy court regarding negotiating financing orders as they relate to Chapter 11 matters.

Founded in 1982 to provide Congress and the public with unbiased analysis of bankruptcy issues, the ABI is the largest multi-disciplinary, non-partisan organization dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency. Before joining Plunkett Cooney, Bernstein was employed by Michigan National Corporation as an attorney for over 20 years. He subsequently joined the Standard Federal Bank Legal Department when the bank merged with Michigan National Corporation in 2001.
