Bio

Thomas P. Vincent served as President and Chief Executive officer of Plunkett Cooney from 2017 to 2023. Under his leadership, the firm grew to include five new practice groups and won numerous national and international honors, including the coveted Mansfield Rule Certification for mid-size law firms.

A partner in the firm's Labor & Employment, Torts & Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution practice groups, Mr. Vincent is one of Michigan's most accomplished trial attorneys. He is a former Chief Trial Attorney for the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office, and he has received numerous awards, including the most prestigious peer review ratings available in the legal profession.

For over 40 years, Mr. Vincent has successfully represented Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, and many other clients in the areas of business litigation, complex general litigation, and employment litigation in both state and federal courts. He has also completed the ICLE 40-hour General Civil Mediation Training Program. 

Today, Mr. Vincent leverages his decades of experience in the courtroom to serve as an independent meditator and arbitrator with the goals of quickly, fairly and cost-effectively resolving disputes for litigants. His ADR practice spans a range of matters involving civil rights, class actions, commercial liability, education law, employment liability, governmental law, medical litigation, motor vehicle and trucking liability, pharmaceutical liability, premises liability, product liability and professional liability.

  • Represents corporations in business litigation matters, including actions for breach of contract, conversion, copyright infringement, fraud, money laundering and RICO violations
  • Represents corporations in class action litigation involving employment law, environmental contamination, nuisance and trespass
  • Represents numerous clients in wrongful death actions
  • Represents private schools and public school districts in matters involving employment law, ethnic intimidation, premises liability, teacher/employee misconduct and sexual assaults
  • Represents colleges and universities in employment law and a variety of other litigation filed by faculty, staff and students
