Our attorneys provide regulatory counseling to our food industry and dietary supplement industry clients on matters ranging from labeling issues, like health claims, the Nutrition Fact Panel, and menu labeling, to recalls and food safety compliance. Additionally, the FDA Regulatory and Litigation Practice Group defends product liability cases involving deceptive labeling claims and contamination.
Leading the FDA Regulatory and Litigation Practice Group is Melissa M. Card, an of counsel attorney in the firm’s Bloomfield Hills office. Ms. Card is the associate director of the Institute of Food Laws and Regulations at Michigan State University, and has extensive experience assisting food and dietary supplement manufacturers on FDA regulatory issues, ensuring that companies comply the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the Food Safety Modernization Act, and other state and federal statutes pertaining to food, food additives, and dietary supplements.
