Plunkett Cooney attorney Holt joins Michigan’s ALS Center Board

Plunkett Cooney attorney Willard S. Holt III was recently invited to serve as an inaugural member Willard Holt of counsel Plunkett Cooney Bloomfield Hillsof the board for the ALS Center of Excellence at Michigan Medicine and its affiliated Multidisciplinary ALS Clinic.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be asked to serve on the Michigan ALS Center of Excellence board,” said Holt, who is an of counsel attorney in Plunkett Cooney’s Bloomfield Hills office. “I’m deeply committed to addressing ALS, and I’m excited of the opportunity to help the Center fulfill its mission.”

As a board member, Holt will promote the understanding and treatment of ALS, support the center’s mission of linking clinical care with the Multidisciplinary ALS Clinic’s research efforts and assist with the financial growth of the center.

The Multidisciplinary ALS Clinic at the ALS Center of Excellence at Michigan Medicine is committed to providing compassionate care to patients with ALS. Certified by the ALS Association for more than two decades, the clinic offers patients treatment that maximize quality of their life through functional independence and symptom management.

In his over 30 years of practice, Holt III has focused his business law practice on the formation and support of closely-held companies and nonprofit organizations. His areas of expertise include corporate contracts, debt and equity structuring, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder agreements, joint ventures and strategic alliances. He is also the firm’s leading practitioner in legal matters relating to the formation, structure and operation of Minority Business Enterprises.

Holt graduated from Georgetown University with a law degree and master’s of law in taxation degrees in 1982 and 1984 respectively. He earned his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University in 1979.
