05.20.2009

Paul J. Dwaihy, an attorney who concentrates his practice on defending medical liability litigation, with a particular emphasis on birth trauma cases, recently joined the Medical Liability Practice Group of Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest full-service law firms.

“Paul’s expertise and background in birth trauma litigation compliments the firm’s medical liability practice and will be a tremendous asset to our clients,” said D. Jennifer Andreou, Plunkett Cooney’s Medical Liability Practice Group Leader.

Prior to joining Plunkett Cooney, Dwaihy handled numerous medical malpractice matters on behalf of hospitals and physicians, including cases involving obstetrics, gynecology and neonatology. Recognizing his expertise and rapid rise as a medical malpractice personal injury defense attorney, Michigan Super Lawyers magazine included Dwaihy on its list of Rising Stars in 2008.

A member of the firm’s Bloomfield Hills office, Dwaihy received his law degree, cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law in 2003. While attending law school, he received several Moot Court honors, including the Best Advocate Award at the Georgetown National White Collar Crime Mock Trial Invitational. Dwaihy received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 2000, and while there, worked as an intern for U.S. District Court Judge George C. Steeh, III.

Admitted to practice in Michigan and the U.S. District Courts of Eastern and Western Michigan, Dwaihy is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and Arab-American Bar Association.

Plunkett Cooney’s Medical Liability Practice Group is comprised of knowledgeable and dedicated attorneys who vigorously defend all types of alleged medical malpractice lawsuits.
