Bio

Celeste C. Kinney is a member of Plunkett Cooneys's Torts & Litigation and Governmental Law practice groups. Working in the firm's Detroit office, Ms. Kinney focuses her practice in the areas of municipal law and general liability, including premises liability.

In the area of municipal law, Ms. Kinney handles excessive force matters and assists with the direct representation of two municipalities.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Kinney worked as a judicial law clerk for Judge Victoria Roberts of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. She is a former judicial intern to Judge Sean F. Cox of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and she served as a judicial intern to Judge Denise Page Hood of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Admitted to practice in Michigan, Ms. Kinney graduated, cum laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2018. While there, she worked as a student attorney with the State Appellate Defenders Office Criminal Advocacy Clinic. Ms. Kinney received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 2015.
