Margaret A. Czuchaj is a member of the firm's Torts & Litigation Practice Group who focuses her practice in the areas of premises and retail liability, as well as claims related to first and third party auto negligence.

Ms. Czuchaj represents clients directly and through their insurance providers when coverage is afforded for litigation arising in Michigan's state and federal courts. Her clients include restaurants, national retail stores, movie theaters, recreational businesses and commercial office buildings, among many others. In the area of auto liability, she represents fleet vehicle owners, trucking companies and individuals.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Czuchaj interned at the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Northern District of Indiana and she clerked for Judge David F. Viviano at the Macomb County Circuit Court.

Representative Client Work

  • Successfully argued summary disposition motions for defendants on numerous basis, including application of the open and obvious doctrine, lack of notice, speculation and lack of causation
  • Obtained summary judgment dismissal of slip and fall on black ice claim based on open and obvious nature of the ice due to sufficient indicia of hazardous conditions, including wintry conditions present at the time
  • Aggressively represents clients in jury trials
  • Obtained favorable results in numerous personal injury and negligence claims before case evaluation panels in Oakland, Macomb, Wayne and other Michigan counties
  • Effectively negotiated favorable settlement resolutions on behalf of clients
