Plunkett Cooney's Appellate Law Practice Group Leader Mary Massaron was recently installed as President-Elect of the DRI–The Voice of the Defense Bar during the organization's annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

A long-time member of DRI, Massaron has served in a number of leadership positions most notably her involvement with amicus efforts and executive leadership for the Law Institute and Board of Directors. She will serve alongside DRI President Henry M. Sneath, First Vice President J. Michael Weston, Second Vice President John Parker Sweeney, Secretary-Treasurer Laura E. Proctor and Past President R. Matthew Cairns, as members of DRI’s Executive Committee.

Massaron has experienced unparalleled success in representing numerous clients in appeals before the state and federal appellate courts including the Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana Supreme Courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third, Sixth and Seventh Circuits.

Massaron serves as a member of Plunkett Cooney's Board of Directors and has been named a Best Lawyer in America for Appellate Law every year since 2007. In addition, she has been added to the list of Michigan Super Lawyers, Top 50 Michigan Female Attorneys and Top 100 Statewide Attorneys every year since 2006.
