Plunkett Cooney's Petoskey office has a long tradition of providing quality legal services throughout Northern Michigan. Established in 1988, the office is staffed by four attorneys and their support staff.
The diverse backgrounds and experience of the attorneys allow the Petoskey office to provide its clients with a wide range of legal services which are divided into two principle areas: general practice and litigation. The general practice consists of matters such as estate planning, banking, real estate transactions, condominium development, business and corporate law. The litigation area includes (but is not limited to) medical malpractice, products liability, premises liability, automobile and transportation, employment, labor, workers’ compensation and other areas of professional liability.
Plunkett Cooney's Northern Michigan attorneys also have significant experience and expertise in handling issues for municipalities, including zoning, condemnation, bonding, labor relations and employment matters.
John ("Jack") Patrick Deegan is the managing partner of the firm's Petoskey office.

From the North (Mackinaw City)
• Take I-75 south to exit US-31/Petoskey.
• Take US-31 south to Lewis Street heading south.
• Turn right onto Bay Street.
The office is on the third floor of the Chemical Bank building on the left. Metered parking is available on the street and in the Elk’s parking lot (turn left off Lewis).
From the South (Saginaw)
• Take I-75 north to Gaylord exit
• Turn left onto Main Street which will become M-32
• Follow M-32 west to US-131
• Turn right onto US-131 and follow to Petoskey
• Turn right onto East Lake Street
• Turn left onto Bay Street follow past Howard Street (or turn left on Howard and right on Bay)
The office is on the third floor of the Chemical Bank building on the right. Metered parking is available on the street and in the Elk’s parking lot passed the building on your right.
From the East (Onaway)
• Take M-68 east to US-31 heading south to Lewis Street.
• Turn right onto Bay Street.
