Plunkett Cooney associate attorney, Stephanie M. Brochert, was recently named to the 2021 Class of Up & Coming Lawyers by Michigan Lawyers Weekly (MiLW), an industry publication serving the state’s legal community.

Brochert, who is a member of Plunkett Cooney’s Insurance Law Practice Group, will be honored, along with 24 other Michigan attorneys, during a virtual event on June 10 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and in a special print feature published in the June 14 issue of MiLW.

The Up & Coming Lawyers program honors lawyers throughout Michigan who have established a name for themselves by displaying ambition and setting themselves apart among peers through their accomplishments in their first 10 years in practice.

Brochert, who is a member of the firm's Bloomfield Hills office, practices primarily in the area of insurance coverage. She represents major property and casualty insurance companies in coverage cases throughout the United States. Her coverage work includes handling a variety of issues, including environmental contamination, construction defect and high-exposure product liability claims.

Admitted to practice law in Michigan, New York and New Jersey, Brochert has experience representing insurers in complex coverage disputes involving multi-million dollar construction projects, severe personal injuries, exposures to toxic materials, and matters involving state and local government entities, including the city of New York.

A 2019 Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (WLAM) Regional Leadership Award recipient, Brochert is an active member of the WLAM Oakland Region, working her way through its leadership positions, serving currently as vice president and also its past treasurer. She is also a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the New York and New Jersey State bar associations, the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association and the DRI - The Voice of the Defense Bar.

Brochert received her law degree, cum laude, from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 2013 and her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Marist College, which is located in Poughkeepsie, New York, in 2008.
