Firm adds Calvert to Transportation Law Practice Group

05.12.2025

Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and most accomplished law firms, recently expanded its Transportation Law Practice Group with the addition of attorney Michael D. Calvert.

A member of the firm’s Bloomfield Hills office, Calvert focuses his litigation practice on the defense of claims involving personal injury, automotive, premises and general liability.

Calvert represents national insurers and policyholders in first- and third-party motor vehicle liability matters, as well as uninsured and underinsured motorist claims. He has successfully defended his clients in cases involving insured fraud, failure to provide reasonable proof of loss and other violations of insurance contracts. Calvert also has experience resolving premises liability claims.

A 2023 graduate from Michigan State University College of Law, Calvert received his undergraduate degree from James Madison College at Michigan State University in 2019.

Plunkett Cooney’s Transportation Law Practice Group includes attorneys in the firm’s four-state footprint who provide an array of litigation and risk management services, including expertise in the areas of first- and third-party auto liability, cross-border claims with Canada, trucking liability, fraud investigations and emergency accident response.

Established in 1913, Plunkett Cooney is a leading provider of business law and litigation services to clients in the private and public sectors. The firm employs attorneys in seven Michigan cities, Chicago, Illinois; Columbus, Ohio; and Indianapolis, Indiana.

Plunkett Cooney has received the highest rating (AV) awarded by Martindale-Hubbell, a leading peer review service, and was recently named among the Best Legacy Law Firms by Michigan Lawyers Weekly, a leading news outlet covering the state’s legal industry.
