PDFKaufmann joins firm’s Transportation Law, Litigation practice groups
Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and most accomplished law firms, recently added senior attorney Timothy Kaufmann to its Transportation Law and Torts & Litigation practice groups.
A member of the firm’s Flint office, Kaufmann focuses his practice in the areas of first- and third-party motor vehicle defense, premises liability and worker’s compensation.
A former in-house attorney for a national auto insurance company, Kaufmann’s transportation law practice includes the defense of complex civil litigation matters involving bodily injury claims, coverage disputes and No-Fault liability matters. He has significant experience with coverage evaluations, including analyzing claims prior to litigation for violations of contract terms. Kaufmann has also handled personal injury protection claims and subrogation matters.
With nearly 15 years of experience, Kaufmann has a diverse legal practice, which includes representing banks, insurers, reinsurers, corporations, business owners and individuals in many litigation matters. He has also advised businesses in the technology, food service, manufacturing and finance industries on entity formations, acquisitions, joint ventures, transactional matters, employment and general corporate governance issues, among numerous other legal matters.
Kaufmann is active in the National Eagle Scout Association and his local Council’s Eagle Program. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the International Chamber of Commerce’s Young Arbitrators Forum. Mr. Kaufmann is also a certified civil facilitative and family facilitative mediator.
A 2011 graduate of Michigan State University College of Law, Kaufmann served as the vice president of the St. Thomas More Society and the executive editor of the Journal of Internal Law. He received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University in 2007.
