PDFPlunkett Cooney named among nation's best law firms to work for
Plunkett Cooney, one of the oldest and most accomplished Midwest law firms, has been named by Best Companies Group (BCG) as one of its 2023 Best Places to Work: Law Firms!
BCG, a sister company of Michigan Lawyers Weekly, publishes its annual list to recognize
top performing law firms nationally based on such factors as employee satisfaction, employee benefits, company policies and more. In addition to being named one of the nation’s top firms in 2023, Plunkett Cooney was the only Michigan law firm selected for the honor this year.
“We’re really excited to be selected as one of the best workplaces in the legal profession,” said Plunkett Cooney President & CEO Thomas Vincent. “While we focus tirelessly on providing world class client service, we also work hard to take care of our employees, making sure they have the tools necessary to reach their full potential and the flexibility to actually enjoy their careers to the fullest!”
The Best Places to Work program, which assesses law firms with a minimum of 10 employees, includes a two-part process consisting of employee surveys and an independent evaluative step in which firms are compared against hundreds of industry benchmarks. The combined scores determine the top firms and final rankings. Best Companies Group, a research firm for more than 70 Best Places to Work programs worldwide, also manages the annual Cool Places to Work review for Crain’s Detroit Business.
BridgeTower Media, which is the parent company of Michigan Lawyers Weekly and numerous other legal publications, will run print and digital announcements honoring the “Best Law Firms to Work For” in their publications across the country. The list will also be announced in the Business of Law Digest and in the company’s Corporate Legal Update newsletters.
Plunkett Cooney maintains a firm wide “Great Place to Work” program designed to enhance the work experience for all employees. This program goes beyond compensation and the traditional benefits packages offered by most companies. The program includes opportunities for continuing education, special events, employee convenience services, diversity recruitment and retention, mentoring, wellness programs and much more.
Plunkett Cooney has also been recognized by other organizations for its ongoing efforts to create a better workplace, including Crain’s Detroit Business, which previously selected the firm as a “Cool Place to Work,” the Detroit Free Press, which previously named the firm to its list of “Top Places to Work” and the Michigan Business & Professional Association, which previously named the Plunkett Cooney one of its “101 Best & Brightest Places to Work For.”
Established in 1913, Plunkett Cooney is a leading provider of business and litigation services to clients in the private and public sectors.
