Bio
Gina M. Kempf is a member of Plunkett Cooney’s Transportation Law Practice Group. She represents regional and national insurance providers and their policyholders in automobile liability matters, including cases under Michigan's No-Fault statute and third-party motor vehicle negligence claims.
A former associate general counsel for an international trucking company servicing the United States and Canada, Ms. Kempf gained valuable experience handling automotive and personal injury litigation, cargo claims, employment matters, contract disputes and other commercial matters.
Ms. Kempf is well versed in U.S. safety regulations and compliance, and she has experience resolving Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and Occupational Safety and Health Administration violations.
Representative Client Work
- Represents national insurance companies and motor carriers in Michigan No-Fault litigation, including first-party PIP and third-party claims
- Advises and defends national and regional trucking and transportation companies in accident liability, regulatory compliance and insurance coverage disputes
- Represents clients in third-party automobile negligence actions involving catastrophic injury and wrongful death
- Secures favorable trial outcomes and early case resolutions through proactive case assessment, strategic negotiation, targeted motion practice and use of alternative dispute resolution to reduce or eliminate client liability
