Lannen joins Plunkett Cooney's Corporate Law Department

Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest law firms, continued the expansion of its Banking, Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group with the recent addition of associate attorney Patrick C. Lannen.

Lannen is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Lannen focuses his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, financial services liability, and banking and creditors’ rights.

Lannen represents banks and other financial institutions in commercial lending actions involving collections and real estate disputes, including loan workouts, foreclosures and related commercial contract actions. He also represents other commercial entities in various contract based commercial disputes.

In addition, Lannen handles litigation involving alleged violations of state and federal consumer lending statutes, including the Truth in Lending, Fair Credit Reporting and Real Estate Settlement Procedures acts. He also represents lending institutions with respect to loan workout agreements involving loan sales, forbearance, foreclosure proceedings, collection actions and real estate disputes.  

A 2009, magna cum laude, graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, Lannen was named a Samuel L. Westerman Scholar and was hand picked to receive the Dean's Honors Scholarship. While attending law school, he was a member of the Corporate Law Team of the Moot Court Board of Advocates, a senior member of the Law Review, and a representative of the Student Section of State Bar of Michigan. Lannen received his undergraduate degree from Kalamazoo College in 2006, where he served as captain of the soccer team.

Lannen is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan and the Defense Research Institute. He currently serves as co-head coach of the Birmingham Brother Rice High School Junior Varsity Soccer Team.
