Plunkett Cooney expands its Transportation Law Practice Group

Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest full-service law firms , recently welcomed four new attorneys to its Transportation Law Practice Group, Maura B. Battersby, Jason R. Hodge, Bryan A. Janes and Trevor J. Zamborsky.

A senior attorney in Plunkett Cooney's Bloomfield Hills office, Battersby has extensive motion and trial experience that includes first- and third-party motor vehicle liability cases. She has also litigated business, premises and product liability, property, workers' compensation and subrogation matters.

Battersby is admitted to practice in Michigan and Wisconsin, as well as in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western districts of Wisconsin. She received her law degree from Marquette University Law School in 2009 and her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 2006.

A former claims specialist for one of the nation’s largest automobile and homeowner’s insurance companies, Hodge has extensive experience handling Michigan No-Fault claims and litigation involving medical payment coverage, personal injury protection, coverage issues, priority disputes, fraud and liability claims.

Hodge, who is a member of the firm’s Grand Rapids office, received his law degree, summa cum laude, from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2020 and his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University in 2012. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.

An associate in the firm's Grand Rapids office, Bryan Janes represents insurers, corporations and individuals in a range of litigation matters from auto liability to personal injury protection, uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage and bodily injury claims.

Janes is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and Grand Rapids Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section. He received his law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2013 and his undergraduate degree from Central Michigan University in 2008.

Rounding out the list of new attorneys is Trevor Zamborsky who focuses his practice on insurance-related claims involving first-party and third-party motor vehicle negligence. A member of the firm’s Detroit office, he also has experience litigating personal injury, civil rights and commercial bankruptcy matters.

Named a Michigan Super Lawyers Rising Star in civil litigation for several years, Zamborsky received his law degree, cum laude, from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2012. He received his undergraduate degree in 2007 from Northern Michigan University. He is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Michigan.
