PDFBogren named to legal publication’s 2026 Hall of Fame Class
Plunkett Cooney partner Michael S. Bogren was recently named by Michigan Lawyers Weekly (MiLW) to the publication’s 2026 Hall of Fame Class.
Bogren is one of 30 attorneys selected by MiLW as a top legal leader in Michigan who has been practicing for 30 years or more. Candidates were selected because they built exemplary careers with numerous accomplishments and valuable contributions made to the legal industry, businesses, their individual law firms and community.
MiLW will host a Hall of Fame awards ceremony on March 27 at The Mint at Michigan First Conference Center in Lathrup Village, Michigan. This year’s honorees will also be profiled in a special section of a MiLW issue released at that time.
A 1982 cum laude graduate of University of Detroit School of Law, Bogren has extensive experience representing municipalities in both state and federal court claims involving due process matters, First Amendment issues, Michigan Open Meetings and Freedom of Information act violations, zoning disputes and employment law disputes, including cases involving the Americans with Disabilities Act, gender discrimination and sexual harassment.
Bogren is a member of the Public Corporations Section of the State Bar of Michigan and the Civil Rights Section of the Federal Bar Association.
In addition to this honor, MiLW selected Bogren as a Leader in the Law in 2022. He has also been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for his expertise in municipal Law and litigation, and he has been selected by this peer review rating service as its 2025 Municipal Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Grand Rapids. The Michigan Association of Municipal Attorneys designated Bogren as its Distinguished Municipal Attorney in 2022, and he was recognized by Michigan Super Lawyers for his prowess in governmental law. Leading Lawyers Magazine recognized Bogren for his expertise in the areas of civil rights, constitutional law and employment law for management; governmental, municipal, lobbying and administrative law; and personal injury defense law.
