Cloie Y. Chidiac leads Plunkett Cooney’s Family Law Practice Group, and she is a member of the firm’s Torts and Litigation Practice Group. Her work focuses on complex litigation defense involving general liability, education law and commercial disputes, along with a robust family law practice.

Ms. Chidiac represents businesses, schools and insured clients in high‑exposure matters from pre‑suit through trial, and she counsels individuals and families in divorce, custody, parenting time and related domestic issues.

In addition, Ms. Chidiac handles claims involving general, premises and motor vehicle liability, as well as commercial litigation. She emphasizes practical, risk‑driven strategies for litigation, case valuation and resolution. In her employment and labor work, she represents school districts and higher‑education institutions in investigations and litigation in state and federal court. She has experience with Title VII and Title IX claims, as well as cases involving sexual harassment, hostile work environment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, whistleblower protections and wage‑and‑hour disputes. She has also defended student injury actions on behalf of various public school districts.

As leader of the Family Law group, Ms. Chidiac directs strategy and client service in cases involving divorce, custody, parenting time, support and related issues. Drawing on her clerkship with former Oakland County Circuit Court Family Division Judge Victoria A. Valentine, Ms. Chidiac provides guidance through all stages of domestic relations matters, from initial assessment and motion practice to negotiation and trial. She likewise advises on and negotiates prenuptial and postnuptial agreements addressing personal and business interests.

Ms. Chidiac also chairs Plunkett Cooney’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. In that role, she works with colleagues across the firm to support recruitment, mentorship and retention programs and to promote inclusive client service.
