Bio

Marisa R. Brunetti is a member of the firm's Torts & Litigation and Construction Law Practice Groups. She maintains a diverse litigation practice that includes products liability, general negligence, business disputes, Title IX claims, premises liability, motor vehicle liability, civil rights, construction law and architects and engineers’ liability. She also has substantial experience defending major pharmaceutical companies in national and West Virginia state opioid litigation and various clients involved with claims arising out of consumer defaults and foreclosures.

Admitted to practice in West Virginia and Michigan, Ms. Brunetti is a member of the West Virginia State Bar, the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia and the DRI - The Voice of the Defense Bar.

A 2016 magna cum laude graduate of Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Ms. Brunetti served as the Preemption and Screening Editor for the Western Michigan University Cooley Law Review, and she received numerous accolades, including the President’s Achievement Award. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Charleston where she was a NCAA Division II WVIAC Women’s Volleyball player and an Involvement Scholar. 

Representative Client Work

  • Obtained a voluntary dismissal in a wrongful foreclosure case on behalf of a transaction services provider to the mortgage industry
  • Obtained a voluntary dismissal in a product liability case on behalf of a manufacturer of products used in the the construction industry
  • Obtained a dismissal in a product liability case for a manufacturer of commercial and industrial appliances
  • Successfully drafted and argued a motion for reconsideration in an appeal from Magistrate Court in West Virginia
  • Successfully tried misdemeanor bench trials as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Kanawha County, West Virginia, including driving under the influence and domestic battery cases
