Bio

Evan P. Irvine is a member of Plunkett Cooney's Governmental Law Practice Group who focuses his practice primarily in this complex and diverse area of the law.

A member of the firm’s Grand Rapids office, Mr. Irvine has experience defending municipalities and other public entities in First Amendment disputes, due process claims and civil rights suits brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, as well as claims involving alleged violations of the Freedom of Information Act, the Open Meetings Act and employment related issues.

In addition to his public-sector practice, Mr. Irvine has experience handling Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Michigan Department of Civil Rights investigations, Title VII cases, Equal Pay Act claims, labor disputes, Americans with Disabilities Act matters, and commercial and business litigation, including contract disputes.

Mr. Irvine is a 2025 graduate of Wayne State University Law School. While there, he served as the Legal Scholarship Editor of the University's Law Review, as co-president of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association and as a team member of the Jessup International Moot Court.
