Bio

A member of the firm’s Bloomfield Hills office, Deanna McDermott provides paralegal support for the Construction Law Practice Group primarily focusing on the legal issues involving design professionals.

Ms. McDermott works primarily on organizing and maintaining document-intensive files, preparing attorneys for depositions, interviewing witnesses and preparing affidavits. She is also skilled in preparing employee handbooks.

Prior to joining Plunkett Cooney, Ms. McDermott worked part-time in a paralegal internship for a Northville-based sole practitioner who practiced in the area of family law. She also previously worked as a legal secretary for several Detroit-area law firms, where she gained experience in bankruptcy, foreclosure, personal injury, auto negligence, medical malpractice, environmental law and product liability matters.

Ms. McDermott received her undergraduate degree from Madonna University in paralegal studies in 2008, where she received first honors as a member of the Dean's List and was selected as a member of the university's National Paralegal Honor Society.
